Environmental Manager


SUMMARY

The Environmental Manager will lead the plant in all environmental programs and will ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory matters including EPA, Title V permitting and air emissions, hazmat, wastewater and solid waste disposal. The position will be responsible for assuring an effective Environmental program by developing, maintaining and implementing effective operating procedures as well as the training and engagement of all plant personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Thorough knowledge of EPA rules and regulations pertaining to Title V permitting, Wastewater and solid waste disposal, hazardous materials handling and disposal and all associated reporting and recordkeeping
Ensure compliance with and management of:
hazardous waste, solid waste, air quality permitting, waste and storm water, hazardous chemical, emergency spill prevention and response, hazardous materials transportation
Emergency Planning and Community Right To Know
Integration of environmental safety processes and policy into the production system of the plant
Accurate and on-time submission of environmental reports
Ensure effective environmental auditing and inspection process
Ensure generation and maintenance of all required records
Training and oversight of facility personnel performing environmental duties
Coordination of the plants environmental sustainability efforts
Coordination of environmental improvement projects
Assist the facility Health & Safety Manager with management of programs and activities required under OSHA
Develop and maintain solid working relationship with government regulatory authorities

EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or Environmental Science preferred)
Minimum of 5-7 years Environmental experience in a MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT
Prior experience handling necessary Title V Permitting; Wastewater and solid waste disposal, toxic chemical monitoring
Track record of driving improvement with quantified results in environmental safety
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Prior leadership in a similar role
